About The Guide To Laughing Series
The Guide to Laughing books are helpful references for laughing and learning about life. Each features a collection of brief and humorous observations selected by the Guide to Laughing (GTL) Institute for how concisely they convey wit and wisdom on a given topic.

Background
The Guide to Laughing at Love and The Guide to Laughing at Sex are the first books in the Laughing at Life series from The Guide To Laughing Institute. Designed as reference manuals, the handbooks compile insightful observations on Love and Sex from an eclectic mix of the world’s most famous personalities. Created by Shawn Gold, founder of The Guide To Laughing Institute, they are intended as a means to share perspective and laughter with the world and for readers to be empowered to do the same with those around them.

The Guide To Laughing Institute was founded on the principal that the essence of life is connecting with people, and the key to that connection is laughter. Shawn Gold learned this from his grandfather, the institute’s co-founder and patriarch Oscar Herman. Years after Oscar’s death, Shawn developed the Guide to Laughing book series to make that connection possible on a global level.

The book should be given as a gift, passed around, and brought out at gatherings to connect people through shared laughter. Each reader is encouraged to register online as a member of the Institute and to invite friends and family to do the same. Serving as member handbooks, new members sign the book’s pledge to live life in accordance with the Institute’s two obligations: Enjoy Life and Share Laughter.

Divided into easy to reference sections, the books list observations from diverse Guide to Laughing “honorees” ranging from actors to comedians and from writers to royalty. The reader is encouraged not only to share these observations with those around them but also to record their own witty insights in the handbooks.

The books will be the featured holiday selection in the United States and Canada at Barnes & Noble, B. Dalton, Borders, Walden, Books-A-Million and Indigo/Charters and even Nordstrom’s, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
