Your only obligations are to Enjoy Life and Share Laughter
Enjoy Life
It is more important to have fun than to be funny. Laughter is not so much about jokes as it is about being playful and finding the humor in everyday life. As we mature, life’s issues can overwhelm us, causing us to enjoy less and stress more. It is commonly recognized that adults laugh around fifteen times a day, while children laugh several hundred times a day. Because laughter in children is so closely associated with play, it is thought that adults laugh less than children simply because they play less. As a GTL Institute member, you are charged with opening up to the humor in everyday experiences, recapturing the spirit of play, and celebrating life. By enjoying life, you will become contagious and will have a significant impact on the well-being of those around you.
Share Laughter
The GTL Institute believes that the essence of life is to connect with people and that the key to connection is laughter. Making a laughter connection is one of the best ways to firm up an old friendship or recognize a new one. It is a form of positive social interaction for every culture because it unites people based on the things they enjoy and the way they see life. Anyone can learn to share laughter and help others laugh. It does not mean telling jokes (unless this is one of your talents); it means sharing your humorous perspective and giving others permission to do the same. As you continue to laugh and learn about life, we ask that you spread your newfound knowledge to others and join the GTL Institute in creating a circle of laughter and mirth.
